The girls had to spend a little while in a rabbit cage while I cleaned out the brooder.
They’re hard to take pictures of.
Amelia is always checking me out. There she is, looking at us. Captain is right behind her, looking like a small ostrich.
Can I fly out of here?
What about walk through this funny wall?
For some reason, only the Rhode Island Reds are photogenic. The Brahmas and Wyandottes kind of all blend together.
They look like chickens!
Amelia checking me out with her right eye…
…and then her left eye.
What do you think?

The last picture is hilarious!
Isn’t she adorable? That’s my Amelia. Yes, I already said that, but I wanted to say it again, okay?
Well, okay! GOSH!
She’s stinkin’ adorable.
It’s true, she is! You’ll have to come say hi to her. I bet she would fly up and stand on your hand, too.
She better not poop on it. Srsly.
well, I can’t absolutely guarantee that she won’t, but it’s highly unlikely.
We have 10 Rhode Island Reds and they run to me now when they see the camera (well they always run to me when they see me), but they want their photo taken or they will peck at me and the camera strap.
That’s wonderful… I hope the rest of my flock will eventually do that, too. They’re still young, I’ll give them time. It’s definitely better now that I started giving them treats.
Awwww! That’s so cute!
Any guess as to whether you have roosters?
I think we’re in the clear, so far. Captain/Janeway has gotten more average, or her cohort have caught up with her, one or the other.
Still keeping our fingers crossed, though.
